Brunch is the most important meal of the day! My go-to is the vegan mozzarella, tomato, basil, spinach and mushroom crepe. I seriously cannot get enough of it! Their salad is jam packed with superfoods like quinoa, sweet potato, broccoli, kale and something other ingredients. It also comes with a raw cracker, which makes the perfect scooper for your salad. Their soups, which change daily, have also been a favourite of mine because of their innovative flavour combinations.
Address: Multiple locations, click here for more information. Another filling gluten-free and vegan brunch favourite of mine is Starving Artist. This punky restaurant is the perfect place to get your fill of sweet and savoury waffles! My personal favourite is the Starving 4 Waffles topped with strawberries. The gluten-free and vegan waffles have a slight banana taste from the banana in the batter, so sweet toppings make the perfect pairing!

Grocery giant Loblaws now has a specialty-food aisle in its shops that includes celiac-safe options. However, my favorite in the city — the Specialty Food Shop — is located downtown at the southeast corner of University Avenue and Gerrard Street. If you know Toronto at all, that location might have sent up a red flag.
There are aisles filled with gluten-free treats — cookies of all descriptions, ice-cream cones, snack bars — as well as aisles filled with healthier fare, including pastas, cereals, breads, soup bases and mixes, baking products, and frozen dinners. There are also groceries for the lactose-intolerant and the food-allergic, people on low-protein diets, and people with cystic fibrosis. If you do have the opportunity to visit, enter the building through the Elizabeth Street entrance the Hospital for Sick Children is a massive complex; this offers the clearest route to the store.
The store is open seven days a week; check the website for the most up-to-date hours. Its website also features extensive nutritional information and gluten-free recipes. They have a great variety of GF products, including breads, ready made meals, and also a bulk section great for us GF bakers. Thanks for your terrific site- I cant wait to travel again!!
Thanks for the info about the Specialty shop! Eating this way makes me feel I have more energy to workout, and my workouts give me more energy.

Best pork tacos I’ve ever had! Friendly service. Our Celiac girls enjoyed their tacos very much. Excellent margaritas sour and salty. And excellent, completely gluten free, food – most of the menu is gfree. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Chicken Tortillas and the Pork Tortillas. We stopped in for a bite before the theatre, and they sped up our meal to accommodate us.
We look forward to returning so we can have a nice slow meal. Only negative is the music was just a wee bit too loud. Loved this place!
